32bit Vista Setup Document

by Jason Haley 20. August 2007 14:47

I have uploaded my current Setup document for 32bit Vista.  This time I'm taking more of a minimalist view of setting up the new machine, so I've pretty much only loaded what I currently use on my laptop.

As I find more tweaks or other necessary applications I'll try an add them to the setup document (that way I don't forget).

Overall the installs ran quite a bit faster on this machine (I think VS.Net installed in around 30 min) but getting the printer setup was a different story.  Turns out the the most important piece to installing a network printer (print server) is to make sure the port was set up -> then you can add the printer (see bottom of setup doc if you want to know more).

I also noticed that several of the settings in the previous documents were specific to laptops - those have been removed from this Vista document since it is for a desktop.

If you have any suggestions as to additional tweaks or developer utilities, as always, I would love to hear them.
