Career stuff
+Lifehacker - Lifehacker Book Preview, Chapter 1: Free up mental RAM … some interesting tricks to help keep/get organized - something I always seem to struggle with.
+Rick Mahn - A year of Personal Brand … this is an entry I want to re-read at the end of December during my "think and motivate week". Some good links in there to help ponder my career and such

Web stuff
+Eilon Lipton - ASP.NET AJAX JavaScript Class Browser (take 2) … added support for Firefox and viewing of Microsoft AJAX Futures types.
+Dzone - DOM-Javascript Cheat Sheet … looks pretty handy for those of you who just need a quick reference to jog the memory of what objects have what properties on the DOM. Not sure how it prints yet though.
+via Dzone - Garret Dimon - Microformats Primer … this is something else I'm looking into (or keep on my mind) while I design my next blog. I think microformats can really add a lot of pieces of functionality (sort of like smart tags) in the right spots to help make simple things simple.
+On Influence and Automation - Links for 2006-11-27 [del.icio.us] - JavaScript Toolbox - Calendar Popup To Select Date … I'm always looking at these things … and always to cheap to just buy a good one :)

Utilities
+patricg - ZoomIt! … a pretty cool utility to allow you to zoom your screen very quickly using shortcut keys. Should be good for presentations. You can also find a complete SysInternals utilities at this site: SysInternals Utilities Index

Database stuff
+psssql - What do I need to know about SQL Server database engine I/O? … looks like a good set of some really good links to help get a good understanding of how sql server db engine performs I/O and other subsystem stuff.

Other stuff
+baslam - Welcome to the Upgrade: A Sneak Peek into Windows Vista's Upgrade Architecture … an interesting look at something that doesn't usually get discussed (unless you have problems with it).

Agile stuff
+Scott Bellware - The Sound of One Agile Hand Clapping … interesting insite into the different aspecs of XP and Scrum and their introductions into companies. It definitely rings true with my company (Scrum introduced from top down and XP [practices] introduced from bottom up).

Other stuff
+via Mike Gunderloy The Daily Grind 1023 - Mono Migration Analyzer 1.0 … I'm going to have to download this and run it on some apps just to see what it comes up with :). Miguel de Icaza aslo wrote a few entries on it: Mono Migration Analyzer, Results and Mono Migration Analyzer 1.0

Community stuff
+Bob Familiar - Team System User Group in Boston

Bus Reading
+via Dzone - The Problem with Programming: Bjarne Stroustrup, the inventor of the C++ language, defends his legacy and examines what's wrong with most software code. … I haven't read this one yet but it looks look good bus reading (the title and subject hooked me). Here is a link to the Printer Formated Version
+Simmo Tech - Optimizing Serialization in .NET (Printer Formatted Version) and Optimizing Serialization in .NET - part 2 (Printer Formatted Version)

Source Control stuff
+kirit.com - Moving from Visual SourceSafe to Subversion/sourcesafe2subversion Migration tool … this link is for anyone out there interested in moving their VSS repository to a subversion repository. I use subversion on my machine at home (cvs at work) and use to use vss at my last job - out of those three I favor subversion for its functionality and simplicity. In my opinion vss is great for people who use vs.net and just need to back their source up easy (tie into vs.net is great), but subversion seems to provide much more (though I never got into any power user stuff with vss … if that is even possible:) …)
