Driving yesterday was mostly rainy until we got to the middle of South Dakota.

Today we are going to Mt. Rushmore and doing some tourist stuff.

Interesting stuff along the way:
Coming from the Boston area, the question of smoking or non-smoking in a restaurant sounds odd
Speed limit in Minnesota was 70mph ... speed limit in South Dakota was 75mph ... seems odd to set the cruise control on 80 and not worry about watching for police.
EconoLodge in Rapid City does NOT have free internet access ... but if you know a little about web hacking you can get it from the Super 8 Motel next door :)
Coming from the east, South Dakota looks a lot like any other mid-west state, but once you get past the middle - less and less trees and more and more rolling hills really make it look different.
