Brain dump after last night User Group Meeting

I was looking through Don Box's old blog entries today trying to find something and came acroos the html code for Omega ? (&#969) which I was looking for a little while ago. I found it in his April 2003 entries.

Last night during Sam Gentile's SOA talk, someone mentioned that when he highlight text on the screen it wasn't readable ... this struck a bell in my head and made me remember one of Don Box's entries a long time ago ... My Way 9/27/2003 (you'll have to scroll down his page to find it), but this is what he says

"Selecting text looks like crap using the default settings for Windows. OK, this one may not sound very profound but you have no idea how important it is. By default, Windows displays selected text using white text on a black background. On most projection equipment, this means that when you highlight some text, what you just selected is virtually unreadable (which is the opposite of the effect you were hoping for). To deal with this, I set the selected text colors to black text on a Cyan (light blue) background. That makes selection look much more like running a highlighter over the text."

Something else I was wondering during Sam's talk was, how does he get the current time to show up on the bottom of his power point slide? Nice touch. Keep people looking forward and not down or back at the clock.

Sam also showed us MindReef's SoapScope, looks like a very nice tool!

Greg was telling me about NHibernate ... so I looked it up and found a good article on ServerSide.Net about it. Looks good.

Do you use Alt+Tab a lot? Then you should check out TaskSwitchXP
