Hello Firefox!

That is it! I can't take IE 7 crashing any more ... I'm a pretty patient guy but come on!

I was working on a blog post tonight - actual content (not links) - but IE just kept locking up and reacting really slow ... basically the same thing it has been doing since I upgraded to IE 7 ... now I'm just going to use Firefox or roll back to IE 6. Did the hardware specs change for IE 7? ... whatever it is, it just doesn't work for me ... so Hello Firefox!

UPDATE:
I followed Steven Mitcham's advice in his comment and it really, really makes a difference.  Seems my addins were/are the problem.... now I'll still probably use IE most of the time, but I think I'll be using Firefox more than I use to ... might even use Opera a bit too :)

Yow! You post from a browser! Not using a posting client like Windows Live Writer?

I had that in Beta 3 and it turned out to be an add-in (will not name it in case I get in trouble :)). Disabling the add-in and I have *never* had it crash since.. My £0.02

My wife's IE7 upgrade went bad. It crashed everytime I used it. On the advanced internet settings tab there is a 'Reset' button that disables everything and puts it back to 'Factory'. Following that it ran fine. Turns out it was the Google Toolbar add-in that was crashing it.

Jon - Sometimes I use LiveWriter, but mostly I use OneNote and .Text's admin module.

Daniel and Steven - THANKS! Wow that makes a HUGE difference ... I might just start using IE again ...

as a general workaround to losing your work, you could run TimeSnapper (from TimeSnapper.com), so that if a program crashes you can copy the text out of previous snapshots of your work. it's saved me a lot of times.

In a not-too-distant-future version we'll allow the use of OCR to copy text straight out of the images, too.

cheers!

Anyone ever used the other competitors? journeyx (http://www.journyex.com), clicktime (http://www.clicktime.com), or mindsalt (http://www.mindsalt.com)? I wondered how they compare to the timesnapper app.
