Aspect Oriented Programming

This week at the Boston Geek Dinner, I was asking Ernie Booth, Aaron Weiker and Robert Hurlbut to explain AOP to me.  The topic came up because Ernie is working on something (watch his blog to find out more) to do with it.  I myself have heard of AOP but don't exactly know what it is ... so I dug these up:

Aspect-Oriented Programing - http://www2.parc.com/csl/groups/sda/publications/papers/Kiczales-ECOOP97/for-web.pdf

Aspect-Oriented Programming Enables Better Code Encapsulation and Reuse - http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/02/03/AOP/default.aspx
