FrontPoint blog

A few of the FrontPage guys (Charles, John and Rob) have now started a blog (Rss Here). It is called FrontPoint, should be interesting to see what they have to say.

How many people use frontpage? How many prefer it to say DreamWeaver or Notepad? I can't say that I use it, but after speaking with Charles for a few hours, I think I really need to check out FrontPage 2003 (check out this comparison of 2003 vs older versions of frontpage) - especially since I already own it anyways.. I have tried to use DreamWeaver once or twice, but there are just to many freaking windows floating around on it for me. I'm not a UI guy and don't claim to be creative in that since, but it doesn't seem to be user friendly to me. One of the guys at work (Matt) who is a good UI guy and creative, loves dreamweaver, but uses Interdev for database stuff....(by the way DreamWeaver makes since to him and he can just fly through it).

FP 2003 is by and far the best version of FP out there. I use FP for my HTML/WYSIWYG stuff, and Visual Studio .NET 2003 for my code behind. There's a nice chapter on using the two together in "Microsoft FrontPage 2003 Inside Out", which is one of the better FP books out there. It's like having a great WYSIWYG editor in VS.

The real pitfall of using the two together is moving or renaming pages. And, use VS to publish.
